matilda is petra-fied

petra was on matilda's list of "must see" things around the world. so she was really excited to get there and look around. she stood in front of the treasury for ages and just marveled at it. matilda wished she could have got a view from above, but it was hard to get up there.

matilda visited the sphinx, which was very cool, and she also got to see the pyramids. the sphinx is really small. matilda always imagined it to be much bigger.

dome of the rock, jerusalem

matilda didn't get to see much of israel, but she certainly liked jerusalem. the dome of the rock was really nice, especially from the mt of olives which has a great view of the old city.

matilda at the azadi tower, tehran

matilda traveled to iran to see persopolis but couldn't resist going up to tehran to see the awesome azadi tower. it wasn't that big, but it was a popular attraction for local people. matilda noticed how friendly iranian people are ... guess you can't always believe cnn, hey?

matilda loves being in the outback. it's her natural home. however even she was feeling tired after getting up early to watch sunrise at the rock (uluru).
